Welcome to the Guiseley with Esholt Mothers’ Union page.

Our Branch, Guiseley with Esholt, is one of the larger branches within the Leeds Diocese with some 40 members. We meet on the 1st Wednesday of each month at the Guide Building. We involve ourselves in many local, National and International projects throughout the year raising awareness and funds.

We have a great fellowship and friendship within the branch caring for each other and offering support through Sickness, Health Issues and bereavement.

Events include – Coach Trips – visiting places of Local Interest, Quiz’s, Christmas Fayre, Coffee Mornings, and we are represented at our Heritage Open Days in September.

As a branch our success is the number of members we have and their commitment to supporting and caring for each other. One challenge is not only applicable to just our branch – we need to appeal to and attract younger members of the congregation to join us and any suggestions on how we can do this would be very welcome.

MOTHERING SUNDAY – A FITTING TRIBUTE TO THE LADIES AND GENTLEMEN OF ST. OSWALD’S CHURCH MOTHERS UNION WHO WORK SO HARD TO SUPPORT MOTHERS ALL OVER THE WORLD

LEEDS DIOCESE COMMISSIONING SERVICE AT WAKEFIELD CATHEDRAL.

FATHER DAVID WAS COMMISSIONED IN HIS ROLE AS AREA CHAPLAIN FOR THE LEEDS AREA OF THE DIOCESE AND DAWN BAKER HAS AGREED TO BE MU PRAYER TEAM LEADER, ALSO COMMISSIONED ON THIS DAY 15TH MARCH, 2025

Well done all the ladies of the Mothers Union yesterday – the Stall was wonderful with such a diverse assortment of goodies to be had. Sadly I didn’t win the cake and I am sure the result was not ‘a fix’

Lots of hard work went into producing all the items on display, wreaths, decorations both Christmas and otherwise, Toys – Shopping Bags made from nothing less that a recycled Alter Cloth. (much approved by the Green Team) it was just such a fun afternoon and I am sure the people of Guiseley who completely stripped the Tombola, had a memorable time. Tea, Coffee and Cake were all plentiful and very tasty.

Many thanks for all your hard work.
