Today at St. Oswald’s Church Guiseley, we celebrated our Heritage Open Day, great to see so many people interested in the Architecture and History of our wonderful Church. There were an array of tasty cakes and some very interesting trips both inside and outside the Church. Steven Barber (Author of Guiseley Terriers) took a group on a tour of the Commonwealth War Graves in our Church Yard, with some heartwrenching stories of those who gave their lives so that we might live in peace today.
Jan Alexander and 2 of her hardy Bell Ringers took two groups of people up into the Bell Ringing Tower. Those steps are not for the fainthearted. Well done Colin for your first time in 25 years!
Ladies of the Social Committee worked wonders with tea, coffee, juice and of course…..Cake!
Our Green Team were in evidence and enticed the children to take the Tree Trail, identifying the many and varying trees in our Churchyard.
A successful Open Day and enjoyable event.
