I would like to share with you the news that The War Graves Commission have recently replaced the headstone of on of our War Heroes Private Alfred Shaw.
Alfred was with the West Yorkshire Regiment (Prince of Wales Own) Depot, and his full history can be found on the Pages listed under the Guiseley Terriers 1914/1918 War Graves.
The Headstone was replaced as it had fallen over and was in a state of disrepair. This had been reported to them by the Volunteer who inspects our Graveyard, and the wheels were set in motion for a replacement.
